Video Review; “ATTACK OF DA FIDDIES” by Eric Carroll and Greg Allen; XFactor Video
Here we go again in our series of video reviews for ya!
When I got “Attack Of Da Fiddies ” from VideoXSports.com, I was pretty excited as we have been riding a lot of pitbikes lately and the craze is getting hot (has been hot) for a while now, finally being somewhat accepted by the mainstream. I mean even AMA has new rules for these babies!!
I was a bit confused at first as to what this video was when I fired it up. It started with a thinly-disguised Xtreme Motor Company commercial, but I thought it was the video. I got bummed because I figured it would be all Xtremes in it. But right after that it changed into a full-featured fiddy fest.
This whole movie is pretty funny. It has the cheapest cartoon effects but it actually lends the whole thing a funny angle.
It starts out with wacko pitbike ramp action and great music. Ramp to ramp backflips, no footers, cans, nacs, SSG’s, then BMX trails, burn-outs and carnage!
Up next is Justin Miller, his Harley and custom Fiddy trailer that he tows behind it. Even his bike has Harley graphics. It’s all about the H&M Minicross Track and how crazy can Steve Halpain be?
Next is more awesome music with a remake of “Black Betty” that I never heard before…right into the “Stunt Dave” Lawhorn sequence. This dude gets waaaaay sideways on the bike and seems to make about 25% of the time. Then we get into cops, chicks, The Ramp of Fame (“Jump It, Sign It!”) and Halpain’s kids, Carter and Colby. They look to be about 4 and 5, maybe even younger, and they are ridin’ just like Dad! Then back to some insane 720 variables and various 360 flat spin attempts, none of which are landed, but were sick to watch!
It switched over to something totally different with Street Fiddies, featuring tricks by “Tight EFX” from San Diego, sporting circle wheelies in front of In-N-Out Burger. There must be 20 riders in the crew and they were banging out burnouts, 12 O’clocks and highchairs, but seems they forgot their helmets! The best scene is the guy on the huge Harley who just stands the thing straight up on the back wheel right out of the frame. Whoa. They call that a scene-stealer.
Up came the footage of the 86.6 foot jump by “Kenny’s Cousin” Dennis Hotson. All I can say is it looks real and WOW. Guy Cooper is watching and says “I’m not gonna challenge that…” Yeah I bet. Sometime you forget you are watching pitbikes in this video. Then follows a bunch of Cooperland Ranch video, with Kenny Bartram, cops, crazy woods riding and skateparks…
Next up is a trip to the Planet Xtreme Motocross Park! These guys have it all with motocross, pee-wee, quads and a supermotard track. Wow. There is some cool Mini-Supermotard video in here.
No video these days is complete without a foam pit scene and this one does not miss out on the trend…
The video finished up with…you guesses it more Fiddy carnage including more of “Stunt Dave” and some home video clips that remind you why they invented helmets.
There are about 6 bonus tracks, but most of them are repeats of the same stuff you see in the movie.
In summary, if you really like Fiddies, this is a pretty cool video, especially for the jump sequences.
