It’s official. The X Games are over. And they went out in a screaming blur of motorcycles. Forty-five laps, 20 riders, one gold medal.
Doug Henry, who took 14th in last year’s inaugural X Games SuperMoto race, pulled away from the 20-man pack early and held on for the win.
Jeremy McGrath finished second, just 11.349 seconds behind Henry.
Chad Reed took the bronze.
Other notable finishes: Jeff Ward, 44, the eldest rider at the X Games, crashed early in the race and finished 17th. Ward finished 27th earlier this year at the Indianapolis 500.
Last year’s silver medalist Eddy Seel finished 14th. And Freestyle champ Travis Pastrana pulled into the finish at 12th.
