Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports’ AMA Sanctioned Arenacross Events Set To Begin Another Exciting Year

AMA Pro Racing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Motorcycle Association, and Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports announce that 2005-2006 should be one of their most exciting seasons of arenacross motorcycle racing. Pursuant to an agreement reached in 2002, AMA Pro Racing will continue to exclusively sanction the National and Regional Arenacross programs produced and promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment through at least the 2009 season.
Clear Channel Entertainment’s AMA National Arenacross Series and AMA Regional Arenacross races are the only arenacross programs that are officially sanctioned by the AMA and its professional affiliate, AMA Pro Racing.
Clear Channel Entertainment’s arenacross program includes the AMA National Arenacross Series and AMA Regional Arenacross races, as well as the prestigious U.S. Open and the Amateur Arenacross World Finals held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on October 7-9, 2005.
“Arenacross represents a tremendous opportunity to bring stadium-style motocross to an expanded audience,” said Scott Hollingsworth, AMA Pro Racing CEO. “By visiting markets that might not necessarily see a THQ AMA Supercross event, we can broaden the appeal and awareness of this form of motorcycle racing. The 2005-2006 AMA National Arenacross Series will include 10 weekend events at some of the nation’s premier sporting venues. Additionally, AMA Regional Arenacross races will include a minimum of 11 new venues and markets to showcase the sport of arenacross during the 2005-2006 season at an unprecedented level across the United States.

The Clear Channel Entertainment produced AMA National Arenacross Series is the largest arena motorsports racing program in the world, and this year arenacross celebrates its 23rd anniversary. Top amateur and professional riders from across the world will compete for fame and fortune in the AMA National Arenacross Series. Professional riders will compete for more than $2,600,000 in prize money, contingency payments, performance bonuses plus a points fund.
Clear Channel Entertainment Motor Sports also proudly announces that the AMA National Arenacross Series will once again be broadcast on SPEED Channel during 2005-2006.
